The previous Star Wars Battlefront games have only covered specific eras across the series timeline, with the 2015 reboot set during the wars of the Original Trilogy between the Rebellion and the Empire, and the 2004 game during the Clone Wars. With the sequel due out later this year, the newly added single player campaign will be changing things up in that regard.
During their investor call, EA spoke out on the inclusion of a single player campaign for the sequel. The story mode for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will cover several eras of the series’ extensive universe, and will also have “more heroes and characters” than the 2015 game. While the number of eras and which specific ones haven’t been revealed, it’s likely that both the Original Trilogy and the New Trilogy eras will be among them.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this holiday season.
