Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.5 – Unlocking Dun Scaith
With patch 3.5: The Far Edge of Fate, Square Enix has added a brand new 24-man raid to the game. This one is called Dun Scaith, and you’ll definitely need to make sure you’re appropriately geared before you can even attempt it.
First off, in order to unlock the raid, you’ll have to initiate the relevant quest line for it. Head over to the Sea of Clouds and speak with Stacia to start the quest “Where Shadows Reign.” Follow her instructions, and you’ll unlock Dun Scaith in your Duty Finder menu. Stacia can be found at X: 6.2, Y: 5.8. You’ll need to complete the quest “Freedom for Our Skies” before you can start the new quest and unlock the raid. Dun Scaith has an item level of 235, so not only do you have to get all of your gear and accessories up to the required level, but you’ll also have to make sure your weapon is up to snuff as well.
Buying Lore gear at Idyllshire is a good way to bump your item level up to 230, and Scripture gear will be your next step towards hitting those higher levels.
