In a sea of announcements at the PlayStation Experience, Team Ninja decided to drop in and show off a new trailer for their upcoming title Nioh. In this video we were not only shown some in game combat, but given a glimpse at some truly terrifying monsters. Set in Japan during the Sengoku period, this action RPG sees players take control of the samurai William.

Blending together games like The Witcher 3, Ninja Gaiden, and the Dark Souls series, this title is a bloody, brutal experience. During the trailer we get a few glimpses at what certainly appear to be bosses. One of which is a massive, red spiked swords man who easily overshadows your poor samurai. The other enemies we get brief glimpses of are a staff wielding frog, anthropomorphic bird creatures, and unknown masked warrior.

We also get a brief glimpse at the combat, which included a variety of weapons and items. One interesting section showed William using a variety of different swords will elemental properties, which could suggest different foes are weak to certain damage types.

Nioh is set to release on February 9 next year exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Make sure to check in with us at Twinfinite for all your latest PlayStation Experience news.
