Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered adds several DLC maps, two game modes, holiday weapon skins, and new cosmetic items in a free update today for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The six multiplayer maps included in today’s update are Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work. The game launched last month with 10 maps, but now the remaster is on parity with the 2007 original.
Also included is Winter Crash, a holiday-themed snowy version of Crash, which comes to all platforms after being PC exclusive in the original game. Two holiday weapon camos, Gift Wrap and Ugly Sweater, can be unlocked by completing challenges on the Winter Crash map.
Gun Game and Hardpoint game modes have been added to multiplayer playlists, as well as new personalization items with a theme of “Operation Arctic Wolf.” This loot drop includes weapon camos, reticles, combat uniforms, emblems, calling cards, and female characters. The items can be found in supply drops or through crafting “Parts.”
Modern Warfare Remastered is still only available through deluxe and legacy editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. In related news, players can try out Infinite Warfare in a free play trial for five days later this Thursday. It includes the campaign’s first two missions, multiplayer with a level cap of 15, and Zombies in Spaceland with a level cap of three.
