Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection Update Removes That Creepy NPC Face

Be gone, weird NPC face!

Following the appearance of a rather creepy looking NPC in Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, Ubisoft has today released an update that fixes the glitch.

For those unaware as to what we’re talking about, back when The Ezio Collection first released in November, players were quick to pick up on a strange-looking NPC when playing Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection. Specifically, the out-of-place figure appeared when playing Assassin’s Creed 2 in memory one of sequence one. You can spot him looking terrifying in the video below at about the 1:20 mark.

Following this discovery, Ubisoft was quick to note that the NPC was randomly generated and wouldn’t always turn up in players’ games. Fortunately, however, Ubisoft has today released a patch for Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection to address the issue.

The patch notes for update 1.02 are pretty small, only fixing one other bug as well as the NPC face issue. You can check out the patch notes below.

  • #Visual – *FIXED – A weird NPC face appears in Assassin’s Creed 2 Sequence 1, Memory 1
  • #Sounds – *FIXED – Background music stops after performing a synchronization on a view point in Assassin’s Creed 2

Well, at least that NPC won’t be terrifying any other unaware players. Did you have a meeting with this NPC? Let us know down in the comments below.
