PS4 Pro Support – Dishonored 2
Dishonored 2 is now available for those who preordered the copy and it just so happens that this early access made the game available on the same day as the release of Sony’s supercharged PS4 Pro. Boasting 4K gaming, an extra gigabyte of DRAM, and a few other tweaks under the hood, the PS4 Pro will allow players to get the very best experiences from games that choose to support it.
Essentially, not every game will automatically make use of the additional horsepower of the PS4 Pro and some will need to provide patches to add in the ability to make use of said power. Many players have been asking whether or not Dishonored 2 has PS4 Pro support and we can confirm that it does.
While playing, we check our TV’s output display settings which confirmed the game was running at 4K. Further confirmation comes in the form of the list of games confirmed to be optimized for the PS4 Pro over on the PlayStation Blog.
It is odd, however, that the game’s front cover doesn’t include the PS4 Pro label that was said to be included on all future software. What’s more, the back of the box reads that the video output is limited to 1080p. While this does lead to some confusion, the confirmation is over on the PlayStation blog and, from our own experience, you can definitely see the difference.
