New Titanfall 2 Single Player Trailer Aims for Action and Camaraderie

Who knew robots could make you cry.

Titanfall 2 is filling in some of the gaps its predecessor missed and adding a single player campaign. And if the new trailer is anything to go on, it’s going to be pretty awesome.

The story centers on soldier Jack Cooper who is made the pilot of BT-7274 against his will. But this works out in his favor, as he has always dreamt of piloting one of the hulking mechs. They must work together to stop the IMC, a corporation hellbent on controlling the frontier.

The trailer shows Titans flying, ground combat against strange reptilian aliens, plenty of wall running, and nasty looking enemy Titans. All of this comes on top of the already confirmed gameplay additions like the grappling hook. The footage also goes a long way in developing BT as an actual character, not just a heavily armed robot. He is controlled by an AI and speaks and interacts with the player. The world of Titanfall is brimming with lore and fantastic sights to see, and the campaign looks like it will put all of this on full display.

The game also builds upon the first Titanfall’s suite of multiplayer modes, refining the parkour-heavy action and balancing things like combat between Titans and pilots. The multiplayer betas earlier this year gave us a taste of what to expect, and we came away impressed.

Titanfall 2 releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC October 28, 2016.
