Bethesda’s MMO baby The Elder Scrolls Online has had a tough go at it for a few years now, but since its shift to free-to-play last year, the game has kept up a steady player base. And for the first time in the game’s life, a unique holiday event starts today for players called The Witches Festival.
The official blog post for The Witches Festival describes the new content in a mysterious light, but the even essentially seems to be a new collection of quests and activities that land on the quirkier side of things, like polymorphing yourselves into undead creatures, as described below.
“To join in the frightening festivities, visit the Crown Store to get your free Crow Caller, then blow into this baneful birdcall to have “The Witchmother’s Bargain” quest bestowed upon you. Complete the quest to receive the Witchmother’s Whistle and use it to summon The Witchmother’s Cauldron. This bubbling bowl of toil and trouble will polymorph you, and anyone in your group, into the terrifying visage of an Undead creature. The polymorph will last for two hours, but you’ll be able to use it as many times as you like until the first day of Sun’s Dusk (November 1st).”
The event is now live, so you can go check it out for yourself in Elder Scrolls Online until the end of the month.
