Tales of Berseria Gets an Official Western Release Date and Collector’s Edition

Another title joins the packed months of early 2017.

The latest in the long running Tales series of JRPGs finally has a firm release date of January 24, 2016. The announcement was made over on the PlayStation Blog today, by Bandai Namco’s community specialist Dmitryi Khlynin.

Tales of Berseria is the sixteenth main entry in the series, and actually takes place in the same world as Tales of Zestiria, although it’s hundreds of years before it. The game takes place in the Holy Midgard Empire, which rules over the world’s continent of archipelagos. Velvet Crowe is the main character, a young woman who turned into a Daemon three years before the events of the game and was imprisoned because of it.

In addition to the release date, Bandai Namco also announced a hefty Collector’s Edition for the game. The box comes packed with tons of items for fans, including a hardcover prequel novel,  and will retail for $149.99. You can take a look at it down below, along with a list of what’s included. It should be noted however, that the Collector’s Edition is limited to only 10,000 copies, so seek one out soon if you want it.
