No Man’s Sky Subreddit Set to Private After Devolving Into a “Platform of Hate”

There’s a new forum available though.

We all know No Man’s Sky has had quite the tumultuous reception since launch, but it looks like fans have gotten so upset with the game to the point where there is almost no room for meaningful discussion on its unofficial official subreddit, r/NoMansSkyTheGame.

If you go to the subreddit now, you’ll be informed that the forum is now set to private, and you can only view it if you’re a moderator or an approved contributor. We don’t have all the details, but the subreddit was apparently shut down due to a decision by a single moderator. His message reads:

‘So I purged the subreddit. It’s become a hate filled wastehole of no actual discussion. It’s not what we intended it to be and I don’t like providing a platform for hate. I’m sorry to everyone who used the subreddit as intended but you are now in the majority. I’m sure you can find a different place to discuss this game. It’s not hard.

This was my decision and mine alone. The other moderators tried to sway my opinion but cynicism got the best of me as usual.’

If you’re a regular Reddit user and you’d still like to engage in discussion and conversation with fellow players of the game, you can do so at the new subreddit.

No Man’s Sky is now available on PS4 and PC.
