New Pokémon, Passimian, Oranguru, and Rockruff have been revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon along with Pokémon Refresh, and new Z moves for Pikachu and Eevee. Passimian is a Pokemon Sun exclusive while Oranguru is a Pokemon Moon exclusive. Passimian, is a fighting type and has the unique ability receiver, which takes a fainted ally Pokémon’s ability immediately after it leaves battle. Oranguru is a normal/psychic type with a new move called instruct, which tells ally Pokémon a second move to use after they already had their turn. Rockruff, can be found in both games, but the evolution of Rockruff depends on the version of the game. Rockruff will evolve into Lycanroc’s midday form in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will get his Midnight form. Both forms keep Rockruff’s initial rock typing.
Pokémon Refresh has also been revealed for Sun and Moon. Pokémon Refresh looks like an enhanced version of Pokémon-Amie that allows players to groom and care for their Pokémon for added bonuses. The official site states that “By caring for your Pokémon, you can also cure status conditions like poisoning and paralysis that were inflicted on your Pokémon in battle” along with increased battle performance similar to the benefits that players received from Pokémon-Amie from X and Y.
Lastly, Pikachu and Eevee are both receiving their very own Z moves. Pikachu’s Z move, Catastropika surrounds Pikachu in high-voltage electricity and charges at opponents and will be Pikachu’s strongest attack to date. Eevee’s Z move, Extreme Evoboost takes the power from all of Eevee’s possible evolutions and will cause Eevee’s Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed to raise sharply.
You can view the official Pokémon website for more information. Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released Nov 18.
