For those regular PS4 owners who can’t afford to upgrade to the PS4 Pro when it comes out in November, you won’t need to worry about missing out much when it comes to the appearance of Mass Effect: Andromeda. The game’s producer, Fabrice Condominas sat down for an interview shortly after the PS4 Pro was announced and made it clear BioWare’s newest title will be running at 30fps on both consoles.
Considering how much more powerful the Pro is supposed to be, it’s conceivable games are going to be able to run at much higher frame rates. While that capability is there, Mass Effect: Andromeda developers aren’t going to be testing its limits just yet. Condominas was talking to GameSpot when the producer shared the news and it doesn’t appear BioWare is the only company not yet ready to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s complete power.
Jason Connell of Sucker Punch Productions reportedly also told GameSpotm Infamous: Second Son and First Light will both run at the same frame rate no matter whether you are playing them on the PS4 or PS4 Pro. We know that higher frame rates can cause issues when it comes to multiplayer games, but for now BioWare has not made it clear just why they chose not to go over 30fps on the newer console.
Sony announced the PS4 Pro will be launching in November and will be carrying a price tag of $400. Mass Effect: Andromeda does not have an official release date but is expected sometime in 2017 and will be available on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One and PC.
