PSVR
Next up is Sony’s venture into virtual reality. Named PlayStation VR or PSVR for short, the tech will allow players to experience games in a way like never before. Headtracking and motion controls are both used to put you in the very center of your gaming worlds, bringing a whole new realm of immersive experiences. It will also include a cinema mode, allowing users to wear their headset and play ordinary games on a giant cinema-sized virtual screen.
The PSVR headset itself will set you back $399.99, but unfortunately, the cost doesn’t stop there. If you don’t already have the PlayStation Camera and two PS Move controllers, you’ll have to factor these in, too. To give you a rough idea of how much these will cost, Sony announced a launch bundle which included the VR headset, cables, stereo headphones, PlayStation VR demo disc, PlayStation Camera, 2 Move motion controllers, and PlayStation VR Worlds for $499.99. It was also noted following the reveal of the Pro that the new system would provide a much better VR experience, something you may want to keep in mind if you’re looking at picking up this new way to play.
PS4 Pro + PSVR: $899.98 (assuming launch bundle is bought)
