Crossing – FIFA 17
Getting the ball into the box is key to grabbing goals in FIFA. Whether you dribble it in with your forwards or cross the ball in with your midfielders, it’s imperative to get the ball into this deadly area as often as possible.
Crossing the ball is extremely simple in FIFA 17, though there are ways you can ensure you’re more successful with scoring once you’ve crossed the ball in. To cross, all you have to do is run down either side of the 18-yard box and then press Square/X on your controller and point your left stick in towards the area you want the ball to go. Remember to let go of Square/X at the right time to ensure your crosses aren’t underpowered or go flying past your desired target.
In order to ensure you’re making the most out of these chances, you’ll need to make sure your player in the box is both onside, and also in a good amount of space. Too crowded and your player will likely be jostled off the ball unless they’re particularly tall or strong. You’ll also want to make sure that the cross isn’t going too close to the keeper, so try and cross the ball earlier rather than just before you’re about to run the ball off the pitch.
Once the ball has been crossed in, you’ll automatically be given control of the receiving player. All you have to do now is press Circle/B to shoot or head the ball.
