In an interview with Dualshockers at Gamescom 2016, Dragon Quest series producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto mentioned that the team was considering the possibility of bringing Dragon Quest Builders over to Nintendo’s new console, the NX.
‘Fujimoto-san mentioned that Square Enix is aware that Dragon Quest and Nintendo’s consumers are very compatible. While he doesn’t know if it’ll actually happen or not, the team is looking into the possibility of a NX port and thinking about it.
He also added that Dragon Quest Builders is a family-oriented game, so in that aspect it’s a good match for Nintendo’s console.’
For the uninitiated, Builders is basically a crafting and survival game (essentially Minecraft) set within the Dragon Quest universe. Players will be able to collect materials, build houses, and battle iconic enemies from the series like the slimes. The game will be coming to the PS4 and PS Vita on October 11. The NX, on the other hand, has not yet been unveiled, though it is slated to be released some time in 2017.
