Netherrealm head Ed Boon has made it clear before that they pick characters for their fighting games by going off of what the fans want. The same holds true for the upcoming superhero game Injustice 2, as Boon is asking his followers to choose which version of the Red Hood players want to be a part of the roster.
The Hood belongs to two different men, though both are intimately linked. The original Hood suffered a fatal encounter with Batman at ACE Chemicals that left him with bleached skin and a twisted smile, turning him into the villain that we all know as the Joker. Hood #2 belongs to Jason Todd, the second Robin who was tortured and killed by the Joker. He was later brought back to life and turned into a vigilante bearing the Red Hood moniker. Jason is currently the lead in his own team up comic, Red Hood and the Outlaws.
Right now, Todd has the lead in the vote (at time of writing, he’s got 70%). It’s likely that loser will be included as a skin, while the other will be integrated into the story proper. We won’t know the true results until the character is announced.
Injustice 2 comes to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year.
