Love it or hate it, the stream of PlayStation exclusive Destiny content is set to continue with Destiny: Rise of Iron. Bungie has announced PlayStation gamers can look forward to getting their hands on an additional quest, a new ship, and an exclusive multiplayer map when the expansion releases next month.
Bungie gave fans a sneak peek of the new content in a post on the PlayStation Blog. Called Show of Strength, the new questline will involve a closer look at the new Devil Splicer enemies. “While you serve the Vanguard in the Plaguelands, I wonder if you’d be so kind as to help me understand the more brutal aspects of the Devil Splicers’ brand of worship,” new character Tyra Karn is quoted saying. As a reward for completing the quest, players will then receive the Timeless Tereshkova ship seen above.
And for the PvP-loving Guardians out there, PS4 will also receive a new map called Icarus. A 6v6, midsized map, Bungie describes Icarus saying, “This Golden Age solar farm on Mercury has remained un-touched by the Vex for reasons unknown. The Vanguard has denied petitions from various weapon foundries to research it until the Warlock orders have finished their surveys first. An exemption has been granted to Lord Shaxx and his Crucible: the Guardians are free to utilize Icarus as a live-fire training zone.”
Earlier today, Bungie also announced a Destiny collection will release this fall as well. It includes the base game, the Dark Below and House of Wolves DLC, and both The Taken King and Rise of Iron expansions. The Collection and Rise of Iron both release Sept. 20 for PS4 and Xbox One.
