Starbound: Where to Get Tungsten

Metal is important.

Tungsten is an important resource in Starbound, and it can be pretty tricky to find – especially if you’re a new player. When you’re first starting out in the game, you won’t be able to find any Tungsten on your starting planet. You’ll actually have to venture to other planets within the solar system to look for Tungsten ore.

Before you can do that, make sure you complete the missions and fix your FTL drive so that you can repair your ship and start traveling around the galaxy. Once you’ve done that, simply go to your ship and activate the navigation console, and then start looking for planets that have Tungsten. You should be able to bring up the navigation menu that tells you exactly what sorts of ores and resources are available on a particular planet.

Once you’ve gotten your hands on some valuable Tungsten Ore, you’ll also be able to refine them into Tungsten Bars which can be used for a variety of other practices available in Starbound. Tungsten can also be used to create blocks, and this will allow you to craft smooth plated blocks as well.

Be sure to repair your ship as soon as possible so that you can start venturing out and looking for more materials.
