To the fans patiently waiting for Pikmin 4, I’ve got some good news and I’ve got some bad news. The good news is, Shigeru Miyamoto has just confirmed that the team is still working hard on the game. The bad news is, Pikmin 4 isn’t exactly a priority for Nintendo at the moment.
In an interview with GameRant, Miyamoto provided an update on the current status of the project:
“Yes, you are right, and we’re working on [Pikmin 4]. So, you know, when we’re in development we have to create a list of priorities and it has been hard to kind of fit that into that list, but we’re hopefully starting to see that on the list now.”
Of course, that’s perfectly understandable. Nintendo has been hard at work, developing the new NX console, and maybe even possibly looking into including VR features for it. The company has also been busy with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is sure to be one of the major titles they’re going to be pushing in the coming months. While there’s no news about Pikmin 4 right now, it’s also possible that they could be holding onto it, and saving it as an exclusive title for the NX.
