Kingsglaive, the Final Fantasy XV CGI movie tie-in, has reportedly been doing really well in Japanese theaters so far. The movie made its debut on July 9, and Square Enix has announced that the movie has seen quite a bit of success. As announced by PR Times, via Siliconera, the movie has grossed 105,611,860 yen, and was watched by over 70,000 cinemagoers.
‘“Those of you who are still on the fence about buying the game will definitely want to get it after watching this film,” “it’s a genuine movie that can be enjoyed even if you’ve never played a Final Fantasy game,” and “those of you who are planning on playing Final Fantasy XV will definitely get a stronger feeling towards its character and world after watching the movie,” were some of the comments from the viewers.’
Japanese viewers have left quite a few positive comments about the film overall, so it means Square Enix must be doing something right with this one.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will be arriving at select theaters in North America in August, and will also be available via Blu-ray and streaming. Final Fantasy XV is set to be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 30.
