Dragon Quest is one of the longest running JRPG series around, with the first game releasing back in 1986 on the NES and Famicom in Japan. The newest game in the series, Dragon Quest Builders, changes things up a little bit by focusing on you guessed it, building. Today, Square Enix showed off the official U.S. box art for the game, along with announcing a Day One Edition.
If you pre-order the Day One Edition, you’ll receive three extra recipes for exclusive in-game building materials; the Slimy Block recipe, Springtide Sprinkles recipe and Gold Block recipe. The box art features our cheerful hero holding a block, and jumping off a castle wall as plenty of mayhem and monsters fill the background. Take a look at it below.
Builders is set in the world of Alefgard, the one the original Dragon Quest was set in, and players take the role of the savior who’s tasked with rebuilding the world after it was destroyed by the evil Dragonlord. The game does focus on having players gather materials to craft and build, similarly to Minecraft.
Dragon Quest Builders releases on October 11, for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. If you want to see more about the game, check out our preview of it from E3.
