To say that Minecraft has captured the heart of the world is an understatement, especially now that Mojang has reported that the game has sold over 100 million units worldwide.
According to an infographic released by the developer, the Minecraft community includes people in every territory and country on the planet. That includes 4 copies which were sold in Antarctica. The infographic also revealed that if everyone who owned the game formed a country, it would rank as the twelfth most populated nation in the world. That’s a lot of people.
It was also noted that, since the start of 2016, Minecraft has sold an average of 53,000 copies on a daily basis, and that over 40 million people play each month.
Minecraft was originally released on Java back in 2011 and it exploded in popularity thanks in part to various YouTube videos and a very active and creative community.
