After opening with a slightly awkward Just Dance 2017 presentation, Ubisoft jumped right into a look at Ghost Recon Wildlands at their E3 press conference.
Ubisoft opened up with a gorgeous CG trailer giving us a look at the setting of Bolivia for the game, and introducing an imposing looking villain in a black suit covered with skull tattoos. In Wildlands the player is interrupting an alliance between a massive drug cartel and a corrupted government.
Ubisoft then moved on to introduce some key features about the game and premiere an impressive gameplay demo. The company is calling the game the “largest ever action-adventure open world title.” The nearly nine minute long demo sees the Ghost team approaching a stronghold of the Santa Blanca Cartel to take down a target, piecing their way through enemies and using gadgets to perform recon. Drones can tag enemies and are useful for scouting areas without worry.
The target makes an escape in a car and the Ghost team takes off after him on bikes, cars and even a chopper eventually. It’s a harrowing chase sequence, where the players are only successful through careful teamwork and communication. It all takes place over a huge area of the world, that looks like it has even more to offer. Take a look at the full gameplay demo down below.
Ghost Recon Wildlands releases on March 7, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. What do you think of Wildland’s impressive gameplay demo? Are you excited to get your hands on the game in early 2017? Leave a comment and let us know.
