EA Announces FIFA 17 Release Date, Will Use the Frostbite Engine

Football has Changed.

We finally have some details on Fifa 17, with EA being suspiciously quiet about the world famous series until now, dropping a teaser trailer and the release date.

In a bold move, the game is going to switch from the Ignite engine used in previous titles for the Frostbite engine popularized by Battlefield/Mirrors Edge.  FIFA has been running on the same engine for a while now, and it’s starting to show.

Hopefully this will make for a more visceral experience, with better physics and graphics, but we’ll have to wait and see! For now, we’ve got a juicy teaser trailer, with the full game being revealed on June 12.

The title stars for the cover art have also been revealed. These are James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) Anthony Martial (Manchester United) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) and Eden Hazard (Chelsea). Apparently they worked as the ambassadors for the game, featuring heavily in the trailer and enforcing the tagline ‘Football has Changed’

The game is set for a September 27 release, and you can pre-order to get all of the cover stars on loan in FIFA Ultimate Team.
