The next in Koei Tecmo’s line of anime adapted Musuo games was announced earlier this month with a strange teaser trailer, and now we’ve received our first look at the upcoming Berserk Musuo. Four screenshots for the game were published in the latest issue of Famitsu which the magazine has uploaded in their digital preview, showing off the series’s protagonist Guts in action.
For anyone not familiar with Berserk, the popular anime and manga explores dark themes like isolation, and the debate over whether humanity is fundamentally good or evil. Recently at E3, Koei Tecmo told Twinfinite that the game won’t simply be a re-skinned Musuo or Dynasty Warriors game, and the company is making sure to adjust the gameplay in order to “represent the IP well.” According to them the gameplay will include tons of monsters, and be a proper representation of Berserk filled with tons of action and combat.
Berserk Musuo will be launching on September 21 in Japan for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Vita. Although no U.S. release window has been announced as of yet, the game will be coming west on PlayStation 4, Vita and PC. During E3 Tecmo Koei also mentioned that cross-save functionality will likely be supported between the PS4 and Vita versions of the game.
