Assassin’s Creed didn’t have much of a presence at the Ubisoft E3 2016 conference this year and instead of a new game announcement we were given a behind the scenes look at the Assassin’s Creed movie. In the featurette the movie’s star, Michael Fassbender, explains that the titular assassins are fighting for “free will” and that their enemies, the Templars, are attempting to “enhance humankind through science.” According to the video, the movie is to put a big focus on the main character, Callum Lynch, and the discovery of his lineage and subsequent revolution against the Templars. The video also gives us an inside look at the various stunts and set pieces that are to appear in the film as well as new footage never seen before. The movie promises “massive” action sequences and a completely authentic story. You can check out the behind the scenes look at Assassin’s Creed below.
Although the movie was announced in 2011 and the trailer not too long ago, we still don’t know much about the movie. Perhaps that isn’t such a bad thing as too much information may spoil the already world renown adaptation of a loved series. Assassin’s Creed may have been missed in video game form during the conference, however the movie is a good replacement for it right? Right? Assassin’s Creed will officially appear in theaters at the end of this year on December 21.
