Coldwood Interactive, the development studio behind the puzzle-platformer Unravel, has signed a deal with EA for their next game. EA announced the news over a new blog post on their website by Patrick Söderlund the executive vice president of EA Studios.
There aren’t any details on what Coldwood’s next game could be as of yet, but Söderlund notes EA’s excitement to continue working with Coldwood.
At EA, we love working with creative and passionate development teams, in our own studios and our partners. Which is why I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve signed a new agreement with Coldwood to work with them on their next project.
Unravel is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game stars the adorable character Yarny, as they travel through dangerous areas reclaiming pieces of yarn and discovering old memories. Yarny was originally created on a camping trip by Coldwood’s creative director, Martin Sahlin. The character quickly worked its way into people’s hearts by doing things like asking other EA games if he can join in, or doing an entire Q&A without speaking.
