FFXIV Previews Final Steps of Faith Battle with Nidhogg and Next Void Ark Raid Area

The final confrontation with Nidhogg is nigh.

Square Enix has put out two previews for its upcoming new battles due out in the next Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.3, Revenge of the Horde. The first, The Final Steps of Faith, seems to have players returning to location of the infamous final battle of the A Realm Reborn series for the final confrontation against Nidhogg. The battle will require eight players and has an item level requirement of 205. Here’s the preview via the FFXIV Lodestone.

The great steps which marked a journey’s beginning shall now mark its end as the Warrior of Light enters into a final confrontation with the great wyrm Nidhogg. Steel will clash against fang and furious flames. But when the dust settles, only the victor will decide the fate of man, dragon, and the broken bonds that once united them.

Also interestingly enough, there will be a Minstrel’s Ballad version of the fight called Nidhogg’s Rage which will have an average item level requirement of 220 or above.

Second, the Lodestone also teased a short preview of the next Void Ark area, The Weeping City of Mhach. The average item level will be set at 205, and as expected, will feature a new equipment sets that you can see below. Here’s the description via the FFXIV Lodestone as well:

[D]eep in the Yafaem Saltmoor lie the ruins of the fabled city of Mhach─a civilization of the Fifth Astral Era whose prosperity was built upon unparalleled magicks of destruction. It is to this ancient edifice, and its vaults of occult secrets, that you and the Redbills plan your next foray.

While there aren’t any specific details on the rewards quite yet, one can assume it will follow a similar pattern of being a bridge to the savage versions of the Alexander raid and other harder endgame content.

Patch 3.3 Revenge of the Horde is due out some time in June. Excited for to put the Ishgard storyline to bed with Revenge of the Horde? Let us know in the comments FFXIV fans.
