CD Projekt Red is hard at work preparing The Witcher 3’s next expansion, Blood and Wine, and apparently it’s going to be massive.
Speaking to German website GameStar, CD Projekt says the new region of Toussaint will be as large as all the Skellige islands combined. Quest designer Philipp Weber says it wasn’t hard to fill the large space with content, and that the team sometimes felt they ran out of room for all of their ideas.
Blood and Wine will also be a step ahead visually, with the region sporting improved graphics and particularly nicer-looking grass, which CD Projekt considered implementing throughout the entire map.
The duo also added that the studio doesn’t plan on remastering the first two Witcher games, nor do they plan on a triple pack for the series, since the previous titles get pretty cheap during sale season. They didn’t, however, rule out a Witcher 3 GOTY edition that would include all patches, DLC and expansions.
The Witcher 3 Blood & Wine has no release date yet, and is set to explore the vibrant world of Toussaint. You can check out these mushroom-filled screenshots for an early peek.
