Gears of War 4 hype is in full swing. Plenty of people are playing the closed multiplayer beta, and for everyone else, it’ll open up in full next week the 25th. To get folks hyped, they released a new trailer that shows off the new features the game will boast.
As far as multiplayer modes go, rest assured that the tried and true ones–Execution, Warzone, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Guardian–will be returning. As far as new modes go, there’s Dodgeball, which is described as “the ultimate Gears clutch mode”; Co-op Versus, where players go up against the AI; and Escalation, which puts power weapon placement in the hands of the player.
The new weapons include the Dropshot, a deployable drill that you can put into enemies’ heads for explosive results, and the Buzzkill, which shoots sawblades that can ricochet and turn bad guys into paste. Lovely. Best of all, there are brand new executions, like shooting an enemy into the air via Dropshot to the back of the head. Also included in Gears of War 4 is Bounties. Think of them like the Boosts in Halo 5; you can add them before a match to boost your XP at the end of a match. All you have to do is fulfill the requirements, and the boost is yours.
Gears of War 4 beats, shoots, and stabs its way to the Xbox One on October 11. How are you liking the beta? Let us know in the comments below.
