From Software’s latest, Dark Souls III, has jumped to the top of the UK sales chart with some impressive figures – the game’s launch week sales are 61% up over Dark Souls II’s launch week sales.
This figure only accounts for physical sales. Going by SteamSpy’s data, the game appears to performing admirably on digital as well.
Dark Souls III launched last Tuesday in the West, having been out for three weeks in Japan. The game received critical acclaim from a plethora of outlets, including our own, and reportedly could well be the last in the series. Dark Souls II was released in 2014 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and was the series’ previous best when it came to charting, coming in second just behind Titanfall.
The UK’s top 10 for the week is as follows:

- Quantum Break
- Dirt Rally
- Far Cry Primal
- FIFA 16
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
- Grand Theft Auto 5

Quantum Break has fallen three places after debuting in the top spot last week.
