Katamari is a game series that has had a fair number of sequels. A recent trademark spotted by NeoGAF user ekim seems to hint at yet another one. The trademark, which was registered by series developer Bandai Namco, was spotted on the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s site. The trademark is simply called ‘Amazing Katamari Damacy’, which keeps in style with the naming conventions of the other games.
Now, as for what this could mean, that’s all speculation at this point. It could mean another sequel, with the title of Damacy implying that it’ll relate to the first game in some way. You could also take this to mean that a re-release or remaster is planned of the original Katmari Damacy. Either way, it’s exciting news for Katamari fans everywhere.
No official word has been brought by Bandai Namco, so for now, all we can do is wait and see where this leads. Considering how Katmari Damacy came out for the PS2 way back in 2004, a remaster or re-release of some sort wouldn’t be all that surprising.
