Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is making big changes to the game. In a post on Xbox Wire it was revealed that this new release will offer up even more features to the critically acclaimed title from Moon Studios.
An all-new playable area known as the Black Root Burrows has been added which will expand on the story. Executive Producer Mark Coates stated “There is a great story sequence throughout Black Root Burrows where you’re discovering the past of Naru, the mother character. You discover her roots, where she came from, and you learn a bit more about her as a character and why maybe she is compelled to do some of the things that she does later on in the game. It’s all interwoven with the already-existing story,” when speaking of the brand new, beautifully drawn area.
Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition also introduces new puzzle mechanics and skills to freshen up the gameplay. For those who found the original game a bit too challenging, the developers also threw in an Easy Mode so that you could enjoy the narrative without having to deal with frustration.
On top of the gameplay changes, there is an expanded theater mode as well as other behind the scenes goodies. Players will be able to view concept materials, artwork, trailers, and more.
You’ll be able to experience all the changes yourself when the game releases on both Xbox One and Windows 10 on March 11.
