Dark Souls III Boss Guide: How to Beat the Crystal Sage

The Pinwheel of DS3?

After you’ve taken his health down to 50%, the second phase of the fight begins. The Sage will start summoning clones. Thankfully, the clones are easily recognized by the blue spells that they cast, as compared to the real Sage’s purple spells. We suggest dispatching of the clones first; their Soul Arrows will home in on you, and they hit very hard. The clones will also disappear after just one hit, so it’s definitely more efficient for you to take them out first.

With the clones out of the way, you’ll be free to concentrate on the Crystal Sage again. He doesn’t have any new spells or moves aside from summoning clones, so you’ll be able to take him out in no time as long as you continue to successfully dodge his spells.

That’s it for the Crystal Sage in Dark Souls III. If you have any additional questions for this fight, or any other Dark Souls III enemy, be sure to leave us a note in the comments so we can help you out, and also check out our ever growing Dark Souls III wiki guide.
