With the Assassin’s Creed movie finally arriving in theatres at the end of this year, Ubisoft have just announced the “Assassin’s Creed VR Experience.”
Announced last night by the publisher during AMD’s 2016 GDC Press Conference, the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience will be launching on to VR headsets at a certain point later this year, in partnership with FOX and Practical Magic.
As Polygon first reported, Practical Magic Director of VR Experiences Matthew Lewis made it very clear during the conference that the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience was “not a game.” However he did reveal that the VR Experience was shot alongside the movie in locations including Malta, Spain and the United Kingdom.
This new venture would mark the first project for the unknown Practical Magic. The company’s website is entirely bare at this point, with the company name and the tagline “studio-grade virtual reality” occupying the home screen.
“We’re excited about the announcement of the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience and we look forward to working with New Regency, FOX and Practical Magic to share more in the future,” Ubisoft spokesperson Michael Beadle stated.
