Battleborn: How to Use Free Character Unlock Keys and What They Do

Battleborn is finally out and players everywhere are diving into the first-person shooter as they get a hang of each of the 25 characters currently available. After the prologue, players only have access to seven of those Battleborn, with the other 18 needing to be unlocked in different ways.

If you’ve purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Season Pass, you will find that you have five free Character Unlock Keys. Now, the name does look like it means you can pick five characters and use them immediately, but unfortunately that isn’t the case.

These keys can only be used for the upcoming downloadable characters. Instead of having to play to unlock them, something everyone will be able to do, you will be able to use your keys to immediately get access to each new Battleborn.

While it may seem a bit frustrating to not be able to use them immediately, especially if you’ve had your eye on a specific character throughout all of the advertising, at least you have something to look forward to.

For now, you’ll just have to grind it out to get whoever it is that you want most. A little bit of skill and perseverance will take you far and soon you’ll be wrecking players with the perfect hero.
