One of the most beloved adventure series in gaming’s history saw a return this year, when the episodic series King’s Quest premiered this July. The new series developed by The Odd Gentleman and published by Sierra, is a re-imaging of the King’s Quest series rather than a remake or sequel. After 5 months since the first episode, the next entry in the new series is finally arriving in the coming weeks.
The new game focuses on King Graham as he regales his granddaughter Gwendolyn with his tales of adventure from earlier in his life. Rather than being a point-and-click style game, the new series is an adventure game more in the Telltale style.
In the second episode titled “Rubble Without a Cause” Graham tells Gwendolyn a story about his encounter with some annoying goblins. The newly appointed king had to deal with a hostage situation, where the entire kingdom of Daventry was being held. Graham is able to approach the situation in several ways, giving players a choice between cunning and brute force to get the job done.
Rubble Without a Cause is releasing on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on December 15, with the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC versions arriving a day later. Take a look at the announcement trailer for the episode below.
