Fallout 4: How to Equip Companions and Settlers

The Wasteland is home to many NPCs both friend and foe. While you’ll spend a lot of your time in the game taking from those who shoot at you, you may feel that the companions you’re with could do with some new apparel and items.

For any companions and settlers that you have at your settlements across the Wasteland, it’s simple enough to give them an item or piece of apparel and make them wear or use it. Simply go over to the companion or settler and ask to trade.

Once you’re in this menu, simply move the item you want to equip to them over into their inventory with the Store option. Then move onto their side of the trading screen and simply select the equip option which should be mapped to triangle on PS4 and Y on Xbox One.

Exit out of the trading screen, take a step back and admire your newly clad companion or settler. They sure look fly!
