Rocket League is getting a dose of Back to the Future this month, adding the DeLorean Time Machine as a playable car on October 21, 2015.
If that date looks familiar, that’s because it’s the same day Marty McFly travels to in Back to the Future, Part II. Psyonix are huge Back to the Future fans, and called the addition “one of the few ‘Holy Grails’ we had hoped for besides having a hit game.”
“We’ve worked meticulously to recreate its look, feel, and folding jet-wheels just as they appeared in the original motion picture trilogy,” Psyonix shared in their PS blog announcement. “Best of all, it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play with — and comes complete with its signature ‘Burnt Rubber’ Rocket Trail to boot!”
The DeLorean and all its time travel glory is available through the Back to the Future Car Pack, priced at $1.99 USD. Rocket League fans can also look forward to tomorrow’s Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC release and a lineup of spooky Halloween items joining the game next week.
