Minecraft Streamer CaptainSparklez Turns 1 Billion Views Into A $4.5 Million Home

Minecraft makes amazing things happen.

When Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson bought a $70 million mansion in Beverly Hills, it showed many people a concrete example of how popular Minecraft is. After selling over 70 million copies, it’s understandable that Notch would have enough money to buy an enormous mansion complete with a candy room.

Another testament to Minecraft’s popularity is Jordan Maron, known on YouTube as CaptainSparklez. He primarily plays Minecraft and has over 1 billion views on his videos. And while he didn’t create Minecraft, those YouTube videos helped him afford a $4.5 million house.

According to Variety, Maron’s new Los Angeles residence is packed with impressive features. The 3 bedroom, 5 bathroom home comes with an outdoor fireplace, and a walk-in closet and see-through fireplace in the master bedroom. The family room has a sunken wet bar, and the connected terrace comes with a “party-sized” spa and infinity swimming pool.

To top it all off, Maron’s house is in the same area as Notch’s, only a few thousand feet away. The creator of Minecraft and one of its most popular community members are living in the same city.

Minecraft has been an enormous success for the creators, but when fans like Maron can make a living just playing the game, it really shows how ingrained the game has become in pop culture.
