Grand Theft Auto V Adds Lowriders and New Online Missions Next Week

All my friends know the low rider.

Lowriders with hydraulics and extravagant paint jobs are one of the defining aspects of car culture in California. Rockstar’s commitment to painstakingly recreating California in Grand Theft Auto V continues next week in the free GTA Online: Lowriders update. The new vehicle type is the star of the show, but there are more additions to keep the online world fresh.

On Oct. 20, GTA Online players on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC will get access to Benny’s Original Motor Works, a brand new car customization shop. Six cars in the game are eligible for customization at the new store, which includes hydraulics, car interior swaps like leather and velour, and new speakers to boost the car’s bass.

The update also adds car-focused options to the game’s Player Interaction Menu. These allow you to open the car’s doors, trunk or hood and flash neon lights, just to show off how cool your new wheels are.

The Lowrider update is also adding a series of new missions, the Machine Pistol and Machete weapons and new clothing. Finally, Rockstar is raising the amount of purchasable properties to four, so you can add another garage specifically for tricked-out lowriders.

Rockstar may not be working on single-player Grand Theft Auto V content, but they haven’t slowed down on adding sizable expansions to Grand Theft Auto Online. What future expansions do you think should be added to GTA Online? Let us know in the comments.
