The PlayStation Blog put out the top PlayStation Network games in the month of September, and it appeared a game released 12 months ago reigned supreme last month. No discs, purchases (downloads) of the original Destiny over PSN earned it the top spot. That meant both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of Destiny bested Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Further down the list, you see Mad Max undersold against the likes of the two heavy hitters and sports games (yes, you are a sports game, Rocket League). To no surprise, September was also the month of professional sports games releasing such as NHL 16, NBA 2K16, FIFA 16, and the continuing surge of late August’s Madden 16.
The top ten DLC and add-ons of the PlayStation Network in September shouldn’t shock. Yes, The Taken King ate up most PlayStation players’ time last September. And yes, several Destiny and Call of Duty DLC packs remained in the top ten even months, years in Black Ops II’s case, after the initial release.
