Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End writer, Josh Scherr, spoke out about an Uncharted without Nathan Drake in the latest issue of OPM UK. While he didn’t want to say never, he certainly said that it’d be difficult to imagine the series going on without everyone’s favorite, charming treasure hunter.
“I don’t know. That’s a good question. I think one thing that’s been great about this series is that we have created this…I hate to use the word universe because Marvel’s been overusing it, but we’ve created this world where ancient civilizations remain undiscovered and lots of charismatic and unscrupulous treasure hunters exist to go and pursue these. I suppose you could tell a story in that world without Nathan Drake, but it’s… in some ways it’s a little bit hard to imagine.”
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set to release March 18, 2016 on the PS4 and will apparently be the final chapter for the series. Eager players will be able to take part in the game’s beta soon, though. Naughty Dog recently discussed real-time cutscenes, brutal difficulty, and ending the series, as well.
