In a PlayStation blog post today, Sid Shuman, Sony Computer Entertainment America Social Media Manager spoke a little about The Nathan Drake Collection.
The big news you’ve probably clicked on this article for is what and how exactly you’ll be able to play Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection sooner than the release date. Well I have good news. The Nathan Drake Collection will receive a demo which will be launching on the PlayStation Store later this summer. No hoops to jump through or forms to fill out, just an easy and free demo to download.
Shuman also allowed us all to breathe a sigh of relief in his blog post. Having had hands on time with The Nathan Drake Collection he was exceptionally complimentary of Blue Point, the studio responsible for bringing the classic Uncharted games to PlayStation 4.
Based on what I played, PS4’s copious processing power is helping Uncharted 2 age gracefully. We should all be so lucky as Nate. The new 1080p resolution and generous framerate give everything a clean, crisp, fluid look and feel that flatters the original PS3 version without betraying Naughty Dog’s vision. One might say that this is Uncharted 2 the way it was meant to be played. And yep, that building still falls down real good. – Sid Shuman
Ok Sony, you got me now. A free demo this summer and some incredible looking screenshots. Just take my wallet.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is set to release on October 7 in Europe and October 9 in North America, taking the place of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Unfortunately fans will be waiting until next year for Naughty Dogs newest addition to the Uncharted series.
