The Swedish indie studio, Simogo, has taken to their blog to announced that they will be releasing their acclaimed mobile horror title, Year Walk, on the Wii U between late Summer and early Autumn. They’ll be working together with Dakko Dakko (Scram Kitty) and this won’t be a simple port, neither.
On the blog, they revealed that Year Walk will be built from the ground up with the Wii U pad and what it can do in mind. This means that players will be able to use the Wii U’s gamepad as a map, an encyclopedia, and a source for hints, which will be optional. Players will be able to use the touch-screen to take notes, as well.
As for the motion controls, players will use the Wii U pad to find and interact with objects in the environment. Meanwhile, movement will be kept to the left analog stick, but according to the blog post, there will be “custom motion controls for almost every puzzle.”
Unlike the PC version of Year Walk, this will be the first (and only) version of the game that will be available with English, French and Spanish, Italian, and German language options.
