Big Update Coming to Both Versions of Super Smash Bros., Includes New Stages

Chrom and King K Rool may not be coming to Smash but now you can dress as them.

The official Japanese Super Smash Bros. Twitter account has announced that a huge update will be coming to both the Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. on July 31. The update will include both free and paid content in the form of remade stages, new Mii costumes and new features.

Starting with the costumes, so far Nintendo has confirmed that players will be able to dress their Mii’s up as King K Rool from the Donkey Kong series and Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Players will also be able to dress all three Mii types in a new Parka outfit.

Stage-wise the update will include two stages from the original Super Smash Bros. game. These two stages are Hyrule Castle 64 and Peach’s Castle 64. Players will need to pay for both of these stages but according to the tweets, players will get a discount for buying both at the same time.

Finally, the update will also include a new Tournament mode, as well as the ability to save and post replays of your matches on YouTube. Nintendo will also be releasing more information about the update tomorrow.
