During their E3 Conference, Nintendo was proud to finally announce that Yoshi’s Woolly World is coming to the WiiU this October.
In Nintendo’s Yoshi’s Woolly World, everything in the game is made out of yarn, including Yoshi and all of the enemies. When enemies are eaten, they turn into little balls of yarn that follow Yoshi around as opposed to Yoshi’s classic eggs.
In Yoshi’s Woolly World, the level of difficulty is up to the player. The game can either be challenging or fun depending on how much time players decide to dedicate to collecting items and pursuing optional goals.
The game is designed with the intention that players will be able to have fun re-visiting a level multiple times in order to collect all of the items. While it is possible to collect all of the item in one play through, this would be extremely difficult. Most players are expected to find joy in both exploring and re-exploring levels.
Yoshi’s Woolly World also comes with a highly customizable co-op mode. For example, you can eat your friend, transforming him/her into a ball of yarn, and then throw your friend to higher locations in the game. Also, amiibos can be used in game with new unlockables.
When designing Yoshi’s Woolly World, developers also had the intentions of giving the player a feeling of happiness when playing the game. This should come through in both the game’s soundtrack and light and simple gameplay, that is complimented with puzzles to unravel and hidden areas to find.
