There have been a lot of surprising crossovers with Lego. Sure, Batman and Marvel make some amount of sense on a consumer level because they’re big brands. But then you’ve got the not quite as big properties going Lego, such as Back to the Future and Portal. Seriously, before Lego Dimensions, can you honestly say you thought either of those would be brick sized? Now it looks like a new property is becoming part of the ultra megatitan, and it is…Mortal Kombat?
That’s certainly what Ed Boon seems to be implying with this tweet of his. Gotta say, Mortal Kombat is absolutely one of the last things anyone ever expected to go Lego. It’s possible that it’s going to get severely toned down for Lego Dimensions, not unlike how they were toned down for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe in 2008, but that’s a bit of a stretch. If it’s indeed real, will the Lego line start all the way back with original Mortal Kombat characters, or begin with the 2011 reboot? Or is this just a fun prank? Those questions will be answered before or at E3, but in the meantime, tell us what you think about this in the comments below.
At least have Lego X-ray moves and Fatalities. If Smash Bros can have them, Lego can too.
