The rumor started when an unnamed source told VG247 that the game may be announced on the evening of June 15th at Sony’s E3 press conference. According to the source Dark Souls 3 is once again being headed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Bandai Namco has yet to comment on this rumor, but the news is bound to be music to the ears of fans of Dark Souls II. Recently re-released as Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, the re-release included more bosses, NPCs, items and the darkness mechanic from the original trailer.

Also, the President of Worldwide Studios, for Sony Computer Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida recently announced on Twitter that Bloodborne will be getting DLC later this year. While he didn’t go into any details, that didn’t stop Bloodborne fans from getting a little emotional.

If this rumor turns out to be true, then this is great news for tons of gamers. Are you excited to hear that Dark Souls 3 might be coming out? Feel free to tell us your thoughts on this rumor in the comments below.
