The human condition, and our drive to improve and evolve, is due in part to our ability to face and overcome great conflict and impossible odds. In the darkest of times, when tyrants and villains run amok, ordinary folk can rise to the occasion to become heroes and legends. Thus, in honor of all you heroes out there and your glorious exploits, Twinfinite would like to hear your stories on the hardest bosses you have gone toe-to-toe with.
Who is the Hardest Boss You’ve Ever Faced?
Mike Geib: Dagran, The Last Story. Took me soooo many tries to kill him.
Chris Fox: Sephiroth was really hard, but that was more a battle of attrition. I also never beat Sin from FFX, but that’s because I was under-leveled. But no others seem to come to mind.
Thom Peart: Ornstein and Smough in Dark Souls.
Chris Samson: The most frustrating for me was Goro from the original Mortal Kombat. That move where he grabbed you with two hands, and pummeled you with the two others was so cheap, haha.
Chaz Miller: Shiiit, man. Depends mostly on what you mean by hard, there’s some NES shit that’s more frustrating than any modern game (I’M LOOKIN’ AT YOU, NINJA GAIDEN, YOU RAT FUCKING BASTARD, I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL) but I’m not sure that’s what you’re going for.
Erika Miller: Scar from the Sega Genesis Lion King game.
Tony D’Ambrosio: Every boss in Alpha Protocol, because I was specced for stealth and the game wasn’t balanced for it.
Dustin America: Veni, Vedi, Vici from VVVVVV.
Joel Slaney: After some thought: The two stage Final Boss in Parasite Eve 2, and Onikage in the original Tenchu. Hard because you couldn’t make many mistakes in those fights.
